Vanessa Johnson is a Texas licensed attorney and human resources professional with more than 15 years of experience in human resources and employment and labor law for non-profits, start-ups, private organizations, and large, medium, and small public corporations. She holds a Master of Laws in Tax Law, a Master of Laws in Health Law, and a Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center, a Master of Business Administration from New York University’s Stern School of Business, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Tulane University’s Freeman School of Business. Vanessa is currently an Assistant Professor of Legal Studies at the University of Houston–Clear Lake’s School of Business, where she recently authored, King v. Burwell: The Supreme Court’s Missed Opportunity to Cure What Ails Chevron, which will appear in Volume 42 of the Notre Dame Journal of Legislation. She is also a Texas General Lines Agent – Life, Accident, Health and HMO & Property and Casualty.
